Foundations 2025 — Curatorial Statement

Our presentation for Foundations 2025 brings together a distinct group of emerging voices whose practices challenge, complicate, and expand the language of contemporary image-making. Spanning painting, drawing, and experimental mixed media, the works on view reflect a shared sensitivity to the personal and symbolic—narratives that are intimate yet socially attuned, abstract yet grounded in observation.

The booth features new and recent works by Rebekah Rubalcava, Alexander Long, Eli Decker, Austin Hayman, Jordan Sears, Michael Polakowski, Connor Meager, In June Park, Katarina Holbrough, and Zoë Renait. Each artist engages with notions of memory, perception, identity, and transformation, offering compelling visual responses to the complexity of the present moment.

Though diverse in form and approach, the selected works resonate through a common commitment to nuance and experimentation. These are artists who speak to the urgency and vulnerability of contemporary life while quietly shaping the future of the field. We’re honored to highlight their practices in this year’s Foundations campaign.
