Cole is a painter, designer, and writer from a small town in the Midwest. Over the past decade, he traveled westward, living as a vagabond across New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, New York, Wyoming, and Los Angeles. Rooted in a "Factory"-like approach, he fully immersed himself in various artistic mediums. Primarily working in oil paint, his practice has evolved to incorporate concrete, journal entries, textile scraps, welded metal, and collages, capturing his love/hate relationship with the phantasmic cityscapes of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood.
During the pandemic, Cole launched a one-of-a-kind clothing line, cd1974, designing custom garments for Lenny Kravitz, Camila Cabello, Slash, Dave Chappelle, and other iconic figures. Over the past year, he held two runway shows and established collections at Church Boutique in LA, Retail Pharmacy in NYC, and Domicile Tokyo. In April 2024, he co-wrote, co-directed, and premiered Dying in Nature, a Western short film, at the Hill DTLA, while also producing four solo and group art shows since arriving in Los Angeles. Currently, Cole is working on his directorial debut feature film when he's not painting.
