Marko Ristić (b. Daytona Beach, FL) is a first-generation American artist raised in a Serbian immigrant family and based in New York. After several years working as a model, he turned to painting at twenty-seven, developing a self-taught practice rooted in instinct, emotion, and process. His large-scale oil paintings balance figuration and abstraction, using bold gesture and fragmentation to explore chaos, love, and transformation. Drawing from his Serbian heritage and American upbringing, Ristić’s work embodies the tension between order and disorder, illusion and authenticity. His debut solo exhibition, A Violent Display of Affection at ALLGORITHIM in West Hollywood, drew widespread attention—including from figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Jacob Elordi—and marked a defining moment in his emerging career. Living and working in his Manhattan loft, Ristić approaches art-making as an act of endurance, valuing honesty and evolution over perfection. His work has been featured in Vogue Living, and he continues to expand his practice internationally, exploring the dialogue between chaos and control through both painting and analog photography.
