Marcus Soriano (b. 1996) is an American contemporary noctartist from Texas working under the name By August—a reference to his birth month and a personal deadline that drives his practice. Influenced by childhood drives through his neighborhood, Soriano developed a sensitivity to light breaking through shadow and the quiet emotional weight of suburban homes. Pairing vintage glass with contemporary camera bodies, he explores nostalgia and the human longing for the future. Working exclusively with natural, found light, Soriano challenges perception and perspective, creating atmospheric images that blur the line between memory and reality.
