Born in Columbus, Mississippi, in 1996, Amy Renee Webb’s art is deeply influenced by her experiences growing up in the religiously and politically charged landscapes of the South. Through the incorporation of her grandmother’s sentimental kitsch landscapes, Webb creates a nuanced exploration of the contradictions of love, fear, and longing in her overlooked home community.

In Rural Omens, Webb’s figurative works juxtapose nostalgia with unease, offering a deeply personal reflection on identity and belonging while also addressing universal themes of transformation and resilience.
