Dollar Erotic: Vincent Lantzy
ALLGORITHIM is pleased to present Dollar Erotic, an online exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist Vincent Lantzy, on view from February 6 through April 6, 2026. The exhibition features nine framed works on paper created in 2023, bringing together portraiture, text, and cultural iconography to explore desire, identity, rebellion, and memory.
Emerging from a background in hand-altered garments, Lantzy's practice bridges fashion, drawing, and painting with immediacy and restraint. In Dollar Erotic, figures appear not as fixed likenesses but as impressions-felt rather than described. Women rendered in saturated blues, greens, purples, reds, and pinks exist alongside works referencing music, vintage T-shirts, and countercultural symbolism. Across acrylic, watercolor, marker, ink, and crayon, color functions as psychological atmosphere and material as emotion.
The exhibition's title gestures toward the commodification of desire and identity-how bodies, icons, and attitudes circulate through culture, stripped down, reproduced, and recharged with meaning. Erotic here is not explicit, but emotional: a tension between intimacy and distance, nostalgia and immediacy, myth and memory.
Presented as framed works on paper, Dollar Erotic emphasizes intimacy and collectibility while preserving the urgency of the artist's hand. Together, the nine works form a fragmented portrait of contemporary desire-personal, referential, and unapologetically human. Dollar Erotic is available to view exclusively through Artsy and ALLGORITHIM.
