Solace Formed : Daniel Freaker

7 November - 18 December 2023
Overview
Daniel Freaker's 'Solace Formed' exhibition explores the tangible impact of accumulated experiences in specific settings, using vivid colors, familiar scenes, and rich textures to communicate in a pre-verbal language, inviting online viewing from November 7th to December 18th.

There are some spaces so filled with experience they feel burdened. Like the air is rich, emotion is made form and tangible. As though it had a texture and a taste. Daniel Freaker's exhibition 'Solace Formed' brings together works that push this idea further, searching for a primal connection to the audience. The intensity of colour, the familiarity of scene, the depth of texture all ways of speaking to our feelings in a language before words.

There is also a tension in these works, which plays in different ways. This is experienced in the play between control and chaos evident in the marks that move between precise figuration and allowing the paint to have life through runs, layers, and drips. There is also a tension where the scenes have a sense of loss from the past, yet the colours bring an almost dystopian future that create images that transcend time.
