ALLGORITHIM Presents Deconstructed Alchemy, the West Coast Solo Debut of Steven Cogle

Opening Reception: July 6th, 6 - 9 PM
On View: July 6 - August 6, 2022

Los Angeles, CA - ALLGORITHIM is pleased to present Deconstructed Alchemy, the first West Coast solo exhibition from painter Steven Cogle, on view July 6 through August 6, 2022 at the gallery's Los Angeles location. With an emphasis on history, current events, and popular culture, Cogle's works depict emotional renditions of familiar faces and moments, rendered with a technical command that has made him one of the most sought-after painters of his generation.

Steven Cogle is a Los Angeles-based, Brooklyn-born painter whose work has been acquired by some of the industry's leading collectors. Just a few years ago, NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire commissioned Cogle to create a thirty-three-foot painting for the SCOPE Art Show, depicting Titus and the Roman Empire's overthrow of Jerusalem. Stoudemire's Melech Collection currently holds two of Cogle's paintings.

Over a career spanning twenty years, Cogle's work has entered the collections of Michael B. Jordan, Chris Rock, Andie MacDowell, Margaret Qualley, Shanola Hampton, and Hill Harper, among others. His practice has been featured in press from Flaunt Magazine, Sotheby's, and Hypebeast.

Deconstructed Alchemy brings this decades-long body of work to ALLGORITHIM for the artist's first solo presentation on the West Coast.
