Katarina Holbrough (b. 1997, Canada) is a mixed-media artist working with oil, oil pastel, and glass beads. She holds a BFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice, with a minor in Drawing and Painting.

Her work centers on nocturnal environments — spaces where hidden narratives surface and occupy space. These transient worlds arise from memory, sensation, and narrative structure. Themes of class, femininity, and religious influence run throughout, emerging in gestures and suggestive forms that blur the line between the material and the unseen. Her figures often appear caught in processes of becoming and dissolving, suspended within a shifting, in-between space, while highly rendered elements contrast against fluid, gestural forms.

These shadowed settings function as a stage for the periphery, inviting viewers to embrace ambiguity. The work asks for patience, a slow looking, and a willingness to linger in the unseen.

Holbrough's work has been shown across Canada and internationally, with recent exhibitions including Janey Gallery at Art Toronto (Toronto, ON), ALLGORITHIM (Los Angeles, CA), and STACKT Market (Toronto, ON).
